On October 31, 2013, the NEWINDU Legion's Halloween celebration was about to begin. At noon, everyone gathered at the company before heading to the Qian Swan Lake Manor in Qingpu.
The Qian Swan Lake Manor is situated on the shores of the Dianshan Lake in the Jiangnan water town of Shanghai, not far from the ancient town of Zhu Jia Jiao in Qingpu. The manor covers an area of 140 acres and features a lake, reeds, lotus ponds, over 300 acres of ecological green space surrounded by lush bamboo, and a farmer's field. The entrance ticket included visits to the mini zoo, the Warriors' Park, the Medicinal Herb and Flower Garden, and a maze vegetable garden.
Around 1:30 PM, everyone arrived at the Qian Swan Lake Manor. Coaches led participants in ice-breaking warm-up games, including "1-2-3 Freeze" and Frisbee tic-tac-toe. These games featured a competitive element where the winners could choose their favorite costumes.
After the games, we moved to a designated area to create DIY Halloween costume props. Everyone gathered to make pumpkin lanterns and masks, preparing for Halloween cosplay. Each person used their imagination, competing to create the most terrifying and spooky costumes, leading to much laughter.
Once everyone had finished their makeup and costumes, it was time for a design showcase to display everyone's creations. Dinner consisted of a barbecue buffet and a whole roasted lamb feast. After dinner, there was a bonfire performance. We joined hands, sang songs, and danced together, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for the evening.
