On August 12, SANY held a shipment ceremony for its autonomous mining trucks at the SANY Heavy Equipment Shenyang Industrial Park. The first batch of SKT110Ei battery-electric autonomous mining trucks officially departed the facility and will soon be shipped overseas.
The delivery marks the first autonomous mining truck project to be deployed in South America, representing a major milestone as Chinese autonomous mining technology expands into the Latin American market.

A Smart Mining Solution for Labor and Cost Challenges
Mining operators worldwide are facing growing pressure from shortages of professional drivers, rising labor costs, and increasingly stringent safety requirements.
To address these challenges, the customer sought to introduce autonomous mining technology to improve operational efficiency, control costs, and reduce personnel exposure to high-risk working environments.
After evaluating several leading global suppliers, the customer selected SANY to provide a complete autonomous mining solution.
The project includes:
- SKT110Ei autonomous mining trucks
- Intelligent fleet dispatching systems
- Technical support
- Operation and maintenance services
For the specific haulage conditions of the overseas mine, SANY developed a customized solution focused on safe production, cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and personnel risk management.

Integrated Equipment, Technology and Global Service
SANY’s advantage lies in its ability to integrate equipment manufacturing, autonomous driving technology, and overseas lifecycle services into a complete mining solution.
The project team analyzed the customer’s operating environment in detail and developed a tailored implementation plan based on the mine’s transportation routes, safety requirements, productivity targets, and operating conditions.
SANY’s proven autonomous mining performance in large-scale Chinese mines also played an important role in earning the customer’s confidence.
Securing South America’s first autonomous mining truck project reflects not only SANY’s global brand strength and manufacturing capabilities, but also years of investment in autonomous mining technologies and large-scale commercial validation.
More Than 300 Autonomous Mining Trucks Deployed
SANY Smart Mining, a wholly owned subsidiary of SANY International, focuses on the development of digital, green, and intelligent mining operations.
The company has built an independently developed technology ecosystem covering:
- Drive-by-wire chassis systems
- Multi-sensor fusion perception
- AI-based decision-making algorithms
- Full-stack autonomous driving systems
- Cloud-based intelligent fleet dispatching platforms
As of July 2026, SANY Smart Mining had deployed more than 300 autonomous mining trucks in commercial operations across major open-pit mines in Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, and other regions of China.
Its autonomous fleets have accumulated more than 13 million kilometers of safe operation and transported over 41 million cubic meters of earth and rock, demonstrating strong technical maturity and reliability under demanding mining conditions.

SKT110Ei Combines Electrification and Autonomous Driving
The SANY SKT110Ei is a battery-electric autonomous mining truck designed for high reliability, high availability, and low energy consumption.
Equipped with SANY’s independently developed full-stack autonomous driving system, the truck is designed to reduce dependence on human drivers while improving fleet efficiency and lowering overall operating costs.
By combining electrification with autonomous operation, the SKT110Ei also supports the transition from traditional mining operations toward safer, greener, and more intelligent production models.

Expanding Smart Mining Solutions Worldwide
SANY Smart Mining plans to use the South American project as a starting point for further global expansion.
Supported by SANY’s international service network, the company will provide technical support, maintenance, and operational assistance to help ensure efficient project implementation and stable long-term operation.
At the same time, SANY will continue investing in autonomous mining technology and upgrading its products and integrated solutions for different mining environments around the world.
As global mining companies accelerate the adoption of automation, electrification, and digital technologies, the South American project demonstrates how Chinese-developed smart mining solutions are moving from large-scale domestic validation into international commercial deployment.
