According to statistics released by the China Construction Machinery Industry Association (CCMIA), China's construction machinery market continued its strong growth momentum in June 2026, with both excavator and wheel loader sales recording significant year-on-year increases, driven by robust domestic demand and expanding overseas markets.
Excavator Sales Maintain Strong Growth
In June 2026, total excavator sales reached 25,445 units, representing a 35.3% year-on-year increase.
Sales breakdown:
- Domestic sales: 10,898 units (including 65 electric excavators), up 33.9%
- Exports: 14,547 units (including 34 electric excavators), up 36.4%
During the first half of 2026 (January–June), total excavator sales reached 152,320 units, an increase of 26.4% compared with the same period last year.
- Domestic sales: 79,025 units (including 186 electric excavators), up 20.4%
- Exports: 73,295 units (including 135 electric excavators), up 33.5%
The data reflects continued growth in both domestic infrastructure investment and international demand for Chinese-made excavators.
Wheel Loader Sales Continue to Climb
The wheel loader market also delivered solid performance in June.
Total wheel loader sales reached 15,002 units, representing a 24.9% year-on-year increase.
Sales breakdown:
- Domestic sales: 7,002 units (including 4,215 electric wheel loaders), up 16.4%
- Exports: 8,000 units (including 411 electric wheel loaders), up 33.4%
From January to June 2026, cumulative wheel loader sales totaled 82,052 units, up 26.7% year-on-year.
- Domestic sales: 41,396 units (including 23,802 electric wheel loaders), up 16.2%
- Exports: 40,656 units (including 1,643 electric wheel loaders), up 39.5%
The rapid growth of electric wheel loader sales highlights the accelerating adoption of new energy construction equipment in both domestic and international markets.
Market Outlook
The latest sales figures indicate that China's construction machinery industry continues to benefit from strong infrastructure activity, expanding global demand, and the rapid development of electrified equipment. With exports maintaining robust growth and new energy products gaining wider market acceptance, the industry remains well positioned for sustained expansion throughout 2026.
